Tozeur
Tozeur is the oasis town in south west Tunisia where our longer journeys spend two nights, at the Tameghza Palace, The Mora Sahara Tozeur or Dar Habibi, or similar. From here you reach the Star Wars set at Mos Espa, the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza and, the next morning, Chott el Jerid.

Visiting Tozeur
Tozeur is the base for the south west. The eight, ten and eleven day journeys arrive late in the day from Sbeitla and spend two nights here, which leaves a full day between the arrival and the road east. The hotels named on the sheets are the Tameghza Palace, The Mora Sahara Tozeur and Dar Habibi, or similar.
The day between is spent in the oasis region, which the sheets describe as a chance both to see a beautiful part of Tunisia and to learn about oases, and as the region where several Star Wars sites remain. You drive west to Chott el Gharsa and the Mos Espa set, then to the mountain oasis villages of Chebika and Tamerza, and you return to Tozeur at the time of your choosing to explore the oases and the old town. One option for the evening is a dinner and a programme of the traditional folklore dance native to the south west, which your guide can arrange if you would like it. The morning after, the journeys head east across Chott el Jerid towards Douz.
