Mos Espa

Mos Espa is a Star Wars film set in south west Tunisia, in the area of the village of Chott el Gharsa, where sandstone yardangs protrude from the desert and the Jedi duel of Episode I was filmed. It is visited from Tozeur, on the day that also takes in Chebika and Tamerza.

Visiting Mos Espa

The day begins with a drive west from Tozeur to the small village of Chott el Gharsa. Here you find the yardangs, the sandstone features that protrude out of the desert, where the Jedi duel of Episode I was filmed. The set of Mos Espa is also in the area. The sheets present the whole south west oasis region as the place where several Star Wars sites remain, and the visit comes before the mountain oasis villages of Chebika and Tamerza.

What to see

  • The yardangs at Chott el Gharsa, sandstone features that protrude from the desert
  • The location of the Jedi duel in Episode I
  • The set of Mos Espa
